    The USC-Health, Emotion, & Addiction Laboratory (USC-HEAL) is recruiting to fill a full-time Research Coordinator-I position. USC-HEAL is an interdisciplinary group of 40 members including five faculty investigators, data collection staff, and trainees who pursue education and research dedicated to understanding and preventing addiction, mental illness, and chronic disease in vulnerable populations. The Research Coordinator-I will work closely with the Project Manager and other USC-HEAL team members to aid and coordinate data collection for several NIH-funded human biobehavioral research studies on the causes and treatment of cigarette addiction and e-cigarette vaping. This position requires recruitment of research participants, screening, and coordinating/scheduling and executing participant laboratory sessions. In addition, the Research Coordinator-I will assist the Project Manager with submitting IRB-related documents, leading recruitment efforts across studies, and assessing study recruitment goals and milestones.

    Overall, the successful candidate will have significant experience working in a behavioral research setting, including research experience gained beyond a college setting; have excellent organizational skills; work well as a member of a research team; be able to work independently; have experience creating and submitting regulatory documents to an IRB or other governing regulatory organization; and have good interpersonal skills in relation to interacting with study participants. The position is full time and requires 5 days/wk attendance at our facilities at the USC Health Sciences Campus in Los Angeles, CA.

    Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree, Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education Minimum Experience: 1 year Minimum Field of Expertise: Administrative or research experience. Working knowledge of MS Office applications. Demonstrated effective communication and writing skills. Ability to multi-task and prioritize. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
